About the role
Currently we are looking for a Route Director for the Belgian routes including Agency.
In line with our strategy “Moving Together Towards 2030”, you will lead the Belgian Ferry activities (routes) and ensure continued growth as well as protecting and growing profits.
DFDS has an industry leading ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) agenda, creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. You will also have a big role to play in our decarbonisation initiatives.
You will ensure collaboration across the different DFDS Ferry locations and with DFDS Logistics division. Moreover, you will develop close relationships with the customers and enhance the customer experience with DFDS in close collaboration with the functional Freight Customer Service team in Copenhagen.
The position is based in DFDS Belgium, Ghent. You will report to Jacob Andersen, Vice President & Head of BU North Sea.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The objectives for the role in line with the DFDS Strategy are:
- Grow profits and drive the business development for existing and new routes incl identifying and implementation of new relevant initiatives
- Ensure a stable, efficient and cost focused Route Operation including “Every Minute Counts” improvements for the designated Route(s)
- Ensure that the commercial organization meets strategic objectives with focus on delivering great solutions & experience for our customers and identify new customers for the Route(s)
- You will take full ownership and P&L responsibility of Route(s)
- You will standardize and digitalize processes and drive optimization projects
- Offer support in the Ferry division ambition to reach the climate goal on emissions
- You will promote the safety culture within DFDS
- You will maintaining professional and effective collaboration and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- You will lead by example in this role towards your people & the ambitions set
