JOB SUMMARY

RNAS Yeovilton is one of the Royal Navy’s two Air Stations, and one of the busiest military airfields in the UK. It is home to more than 100 aircraft operating on both front-line squadrons and training units. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and focused individual to join as the Business Support Assistant within 815 Naval Air Squadron. This is an exciting and challenging position for someone who wants to be a highly valued member of a small, busy, and dynamic team.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To facilitate travel and Motor Transport bookings for Hire and White Fleet vehicles, liaising with HMS Heron Motor Transport Administrator and maintaining accurate records ensuring Budget control form completion. To act Squadron IT Security Officer (ITSO) with personal responsibility to the CO. To act as Sqn Information Support Liaison Officer and Sqn Data Protection Advisor. To issue Sqn Temporary Memoranda, Movement Orders and Staff Work on behalf of the CO and XO. To administer the Sqn’s stationery resources. Coordinate Sqn Commanding Officer’s Public Fund (COPF) applications. To provide administrative assistance to other areas across the Wildcat Maritime Force as required.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
