RPSGT/Sleep Technician - Contract position

QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered as a polysomnographic technologist by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
OR
Expertise in a relevant discipline (e.g. BSc in life sciences, respiratory therapist, EEG technologist, nurse, pulmonary function technologist). Evidence of post secondary education in the health care field

• Responsible for the care, comfort and safety of patients in attendance at the clinic.
• Strong work ethics based on people-centred care
• Perform polysomnographic testing procedures, including nocturnal PSGs MSLTs / MWTs & CPAP/BIPAP titrations, seizure montages, EtCO2 monitoring and use of supplemental oxygen when ordered by physician
• Familiarity with both the Alice G3 and NATUS SleepWorks software is an asset.
• Must be able to work co-operatively and collaboratively as a member of the team
• Critical thinking and ability to effectively problem solve
• Must be accurate & detailed when completing patient documentation.
• Develop a working knowledge of our Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Strict adherence to protecting patient data according to the standards of PHIPA and Oshawa Clinic Group Policy
• Practice infection control procedures to reduce the health risk to the employee, colleagues and the public.
• Perform calibrations and maintenance of equipment
• Effectively troubleshoot any faulty equipment/poor signal quality when necessary
