Description:

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience and proven track record in Project Management and Change Management
  • Can work collaboratively across different teams to deliver quality outputs in a resource/capacity constraint work environment
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and build relationships with many different stakeholders
  • Be a strategic and analytical thinker
  • Ability to work on own initiative and have excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Have a proven track record delivering against set plans and objectives
  • Strong written and communication skills and experience in writing reports e.g. Project reports, Scoping documents, Project Plans Business Cases
  • Healthcare industry experience not essential but would be beneficial

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF POST

To support the CEO and the Executive team to deliver on the strategy and strategic initiatives. Will work across multiple strategic projects, liaising with a number of critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure key deliverables and outputs are achieved to a high standard.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support the CEO on a day to day basis to manage the overall implementation of the Strategy
  • To lead out on key strategic initiatives as assigned
  • To support other strategic leads in the delivery of strategic initiatives and to participate in and facilitate strategic initiative working group meetings
  • To produce and support others to create documentation related to the strategy e.g. feasibility studies, business cases, service development plans
  • To develop communications and progress updates in regard to the strategy for internal and external audiences
  • To prepare for and co-ordinate the Strategic Implementation Oversight Committee Meetings
  • To manage overall strategy documentation and ensure consistency across all strategic projects
  • To prepare a bi- monthly progress update on each of the strategic initiatives
  • To prepare and manage an overall issues, risks, dependencies register for the strategy

QUALITY, RISK & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

It is the responsibility of all staff to:
Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements with regard to Quality, Risk and Safety.
Participate and cooperate with external agencies on safety initiatives as required.
Participate and cooperate with internal and external evaluations of hospital structures, services and processes as required, including but not limited to:
O National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare.
O National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections.
O HSE Standards and Recommended Practices for Healthcare Records Management
O Safety audits and other audits specified by the HSE or other regulatory authorities.
To initiate, support and implement quality improvement initiatives in their area which are in keeping with the hospital’s continuous quality improvement programme.
It is the responsibility of all managers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for Quality, Safety and Risk within their area/department.
