Description:

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering (electrical, mechanical or civil).
  • 5 years Civil/Electrical engineering construction experience/experience in renewable energy is an advantage.
  • The candidate must be fluent in English; fluency in other languages is considered an advantage.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Skilled in management of site construction activities with proven ability to manage the interfaces with various stakeholders (Operations, HSE, Security and Community Relations disciplines) during project execution.
  • Capable of managing projects in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team setting
  • HSE management of a large group of people and contractors.
  • Strong project management skill set required including contract management, contract administration, scheduling, planning, financial control and management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidates should be capable of managing internal and external resources.Ability to use Microsoft software. Other software packages such as MS Project and SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

As the Construction Site Manager, you will be the point of contact for all site and land owner related concerns. You will be responsible for managing the EPC Contractor(s) and subcontractors during construction phase of the project, including the handover to Operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Oversight of the EPC Contractor’s site activities during the construction and commissioning phases of the project.
  • Oversee the site coordination between the various contractors assigned to the project (EPC and GCW).
  • Ensure compliance with the Employer’s Requirements (ERs).
  • Responsible for reporting on site progress against the approved project schedule. Facilitating solutions to ensure that planned / contracted activity completion dates are met.
  • Attend daily meetings with the EPC Contractor’s project team.
  • Enforce site HSE rules and adherence to the Site Health and Safety Plan, the OHSA and the Construction Regulations.
  • Management and coordination of the Mainstream Site HSE, QA/QC and ECO Inspectors.
  • Management of the site quality procedures, together with the Resident Engineer and Quality Controllers.
  • Participating in safety and quality walkdowns.
  • Review Contractor’s Daily diaries and compile Mainstream daily diaries.
  • Provide input into the weekly and monthly construction reports.
  • Provide input into payment requests raised by the EPC Contractors
  • Raise non-conformance reports (NCR’s) and provide input into closing NCRs out.
  • Attend community forum meetings as arranged by the ED Manager.
  • Raising site risks and opportunities.
  • Act as a point of contact for all project landowners/stakeholders to ensure they are informed of project activities and work being carried out during construction.
  • Participate in lessons learnt document compilation.
  • Ensure a smooth handover of facilities to Assets Owners after successful commissioning.Raise changes to procedures if required and ensure a change management system is applied. Specifically he/she must ensure all changes to procedures are documented, risk assessed and communicated to and approved by all relevant parties and key personnel
