WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety or at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in a distribution or logistics environment desirable.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining safety management system in a single site.
  • Understanding of relevant HSE and HR legislation.
  • Proven experience in driving safety performance and leading positive safety culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with Human Resource issues preferred.
  • Previous injury management experience is desirable.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As a member of the site leadership team and reporting to the State Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all team members and visitors at the WA Distribution facilities operate in a safe and productive environment. The role is critical in the drive to build on the already established positive and engaging safety culture that is legislatively compliant while driving continuous improvement. No two days will be the same in this varied role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Implement and maintain the GPC WHS Management system in the sites. Maintain and coordinate all safety records and documentation
  • Provide WHS coaching and advise leadership team & team members to improve safety culture and performance
  • Liaison with Group HSE Team and other DC’s to deliver and implement Safety initiatives & programs
  • Review & maintain Risk Management framework including completion of risk assessment and continued development of safe work procedures.
  • Oversees and coordinates incident reporting and management processes on site including leading investigations & corrective action implementation
  • Assist with team member training to drive safety performance and compliance requirements.
  • Develop the Injury Prevention strategies, supports the leadership team to manage work & non work related injuries including return to work plans
  • Coordinate and manage WHS induction program for the site ensuring all persons entering the site have undertaken the appropriate site induction.
  • Support Facility maintenance schedules & contractor management - including management of work priorities of direct report Facilities Co-ordinator
  • Actively participates and provides input at the Leadership Team meetings and Group WHS meetings.
  • Responsible for the observance of all company’s policies and procedures with a focus on safety and human resources and policies (including all applicable Federal and State laws and Regulations relating to safety).
