WSP is currently initiating a search for a Safety Technical Specialist for our Chicago, IL office or any mutually agreed upon office that is near an airport.

Your Impact

  • Support management of Safety Team projects
  • Support safety and security team staff on projects , as needed.
  • Support development and coordinate project proposals responses for potential clients
  • Provide client interface, coordination and project updates
  • Support Safety and Security Risk assessments for projects or programs including safety certification
  • Support WSP projects that require safety and security expertise

Who You Are

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years of experience in transportation related projects, public rail and transportation security and /or emergency management projects preferred
  • Bachelors in transportation safety, engineering, planning or other related field, or equivalent experience
  • Transit Safety and Security Professional (TSSP) Certification Preferred
  • Experience with Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements or guidance preferredDemonstrated writing and editing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in related field
  • Exposure to safety and security risk assessment and analysis
  • Excellent communications skills, written and oral
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
