About this Role:
The Safety & Training Advisor will assist division with planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT). The Safety & Training Advisor is responsible for reinforcing safety culture within the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure compliance and understanding of all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and gaps, and propose training/education plan to fill gap
  • Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills
  • Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and maintain working relationships with employees, supervisory personnel, state and local officials, consultants and sub-contractors
  • Evaluate Safety, Health, and Environmental education and training programs
  • Have general understanding of environmental rules and regulations
  • Support Corporate HSE or EHS Initiatives
  • Audit job sites to ensure all employees are following proper HSE/EHS procedures
  • Promote business activities and operations to minimize impact on sensitive environmental resources.
  • Prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective measures
  • Support in post incident investigation
  • Perform analysis and trending of HSE or EHS statistics and metrics to proactively monitor safety performance
  • Assist in developing training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials
  • Provide support on sensitive/critical projects
  • Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills
  • Support Company HSE or EHS training to ensure it complies with state and federal regulation
  • All other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

  • Supporting Safety during civil underground activities
  • Previous Safety experience in Electrical Transmission and Distribution Construction or Substation Construction is highly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances on utility safety and DOT regulations and up to date on latest local and state guideline changes.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local safety laws
  • General computer skills (email, Microsoft Office)
  • Great communication skills

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $37.00/Hr. - depending on experience and qualifications. Equal Opportunity Employer:
