Whether you’re a Safety & Wellbeing Advisor in a smaller organisation or a Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator in a larger one, we have an exciting opportunity for you at AsureQuality. In this role, you’ll work across various laboratories, gaining unique insights into our entire business. You’ll support our Safety & Wellbeing Business Partners, becoming the go-to person for advice and ensuring our teams are safe and thriving.
We’re looking for someone with experience in a laboratory setting or in an environment dealing with hazardous substances. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term position offers the flexibility of hybrid working. Based in Auckland, you’ll spend two days a week at our Blockhouse Bay laboratory, one day at our Head Office in Mt Wellington, and have the option to work up to two days from home. Some travel within New Zealand may be required to support our laboratories and various business units.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, Occupational Health, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a health, safety, and wellbeing role.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation.
  • Experience in risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, independent, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Empathetic and able to connect with people across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Safety and Wellbeing Business Partners in implementing and maintaining health, safety, and wellbeing policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor compliance with hazardous substances regulations.
  • Guide health and safety representatives and assist in running health and safety meetings across business areas.
  • Coordinate meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Assist in investigating incidents and collaborate with business areas to implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to reporting on safety and wellbeing performance to senior management.
  • Act as a point of contact for safety-related enquiries.
  • Work with Safety and Wellbeing Business Partners to foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety and wellbeing practices.
