Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION - SAFETY ASSESSOR / SAFETY ENGINEER:

The provision of radiological safety assessment services to the transfer of Special Nuclear Material (SNM) packages from existing storage locations across the site before repackaging and retreating them and placing into new 100-year packages for safe storage.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS - SAFETY ASSESSOR / SAFETY ENGINEER:

Safety case profession SQEP3 equivalent. SQEP2 possibly accepted with adequate SQEP3 supervision.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS - SAFETY ASSESSOR / SAFETY ENGINEER:

• Demonstrable experience in the production of alpha plants radiological safety assessment (DBAA, PRA, barrier analysis, balance of risk arguments etc.). To include internal, external hazards assessment with contaminated wounds assessment desirable but not essential.
• HAZOP chair / secretary
