JOB DESCRIPTION
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia’s largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
As a Safety Business Partner, you’ll work closely with the Senior Safety Business Partner and various teams to support the implementation of our Health and Safety Management System. From guiding behavioural safety initiatives to assisting with incident investigations and risk management processes, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our operations are safe, efficient, and aligned with our core values.
In this role, you will:
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teams and contractors to embed health and safety practices into daily operations.
- Lead and support the implementation of behavioural safety programs, such as ALPS (Courageous Conversations), and ensure quality action outcomes.
- Support thorough incident investigations and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Analyse incident data, identify trends, and develop proactive safety initiatives.
- Deliver safety training sessions, including , behavioural safety and risk management fundamentals
- Support the use of risk management tools, including Start Cards, SWMS, Risk Assessments, and Safety Critical Procedures..
- Assist with the rollout of fatality prevention and process safety programs.
- Conduct safety audits, reviews, data analysis and provide actionable feedback to enhance safety systems and practices.
What we’re looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- ICAM lead investigation qualifications with a strong track record in incident investigation.
- Safety Management System auditing expertise
- Extensive experience in implementing behavioural safety initiatives and consultation processes.
- Risk management expertise, including experience with fatality prevention and project management systems.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical capabilities to identify trends and drive data-informed decisions.
- A proactive, adaptable mindset, capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health exposures and controls (desirable)
This role can be based out of NSW or VIC and requires regular travel to our sites across NSW, VIC and SA.
