JOB DESCRIPTION
The Safety Coordinator provides administrative and site visit support to the Manager, Safety & Compliance, with a focus on enhancing safety awareness and ensuring compliance with safety protocols onboard Canadian flagged vessels in the Great Lakes region.
EDUCATION
- Diploma or Degree in Safety or related field
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with industrial safety programs preferred but not required
- Knowledge of general safety, training and environmental concepts, standards and practices
- Knowledge of Marine Industry considered an asset.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
- Follow company policies and work requirements
- Time-management of daily/weekly tasks
- Regular travel up to 25% (58 days/year)
- Familirization with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities:
OFFICE BASED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce reports and graphs on safety related statistics as directed by the Manager, Safety & Compliance
- Manage safety equipment and PPE stock, prepare order requestions as necessary
- Assist in the development of safety programs and execution of those programs.
