Job Description
At AECOM, we’re on the hunt for an exceptional Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) Program Manager to take the helm of supporting the Program Management team on the Peel Region Consulting Engineering Services for the Queen Street Housing Enabling Infrastructure Program for Water & Wastewater Servicing project. You will lead the development of a behaviour-based safety program during Program Startup by developing the Program Safety requirements and protocols in collaboration with the Region’s safety personnel.
Following Startup, you will oversee compliance with safety protocols, continuously communicate and reinforce the vision and expectations, develop corrective actions, and incorporate, with the Region’s approval, modifications to program safety policies and protocols to drive continuous improvement of safety performance and outcomes.
Project-level safety performance will guide the direction of the overall Queen Street Safety Program. As the SHE Program Manager you will monitor safety performance and engage with project team members through on-site training, orientations, communications, “brown-bag” information sessions, and periodic safety audits. You will review safety incidents that occur, assess the causes and corrective actions, and provide site-specific training if needed. You will collect project safety data to spot trends and potential risks that may lead to incidents and formulate a communication strategy to disseminate “accident avoidance” procedures.
Safety is a core value of AECOM, not only for our staff but also in the hundreds of programs, projects and construction contracts we manage worldwide. We have established safety programs and “Safety First” protocols that lead the industry in safety performance. AECOM leadership carries the safety flag and is the first promoter of Safety First in AECOM and across our programs.
If you’re passionate about shaping safety practices, collaborating with dynamic teams, and driving continuous improvement, this role offers an exciting opportunity. Join us in making a meaningful impact as we prioritize safety, health, and environmental excellence. Explore the additional details of this pivotal position below:
