Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Safety Manager’s role is to promote and support safety within the company to the highest level. To reach this level, the Safety Manager must work both independently and together with various levels of management to create a safe workplace environment. With a strong foundation and continued learning of OSHA Standards and State and Local Regulations, the Safety Technician will provide regular guidance, knowledge, and assist in addressing any immediate hazards or exposures.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Ability to write and implement written site safety management plan.
  • Understanding of a manufacturing environment and risks present.
  • Good comprehension of Health & Safety OSHA rules applicable to fabrication and assembly.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Strong background using computer applications including Outlook; Word; Power Point; Excel.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Maintain and promote a team player environment, while working with diverse groups.
  • Must be able to develop and deliver training.

EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • 1 - 5 years: Some experience with safety background preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Proactively identify and assist in the correction of safety hazards.
  • Conduct and document work area audits to verify compliance.
  • Maintain documentation necessary to comply with the internal policies, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Work with location management to identify, develop, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Interact with OSHA and other regulatory agencies regarding citations, accidents, claims, site visits and audits.
  • Participate in incident investigations and developing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain, develop, and enter data as needed into the EHS Software.
  • Assist in developing safety committee members and participate in monthly meetings.
  • Able to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
