Safety Officer in Construction:

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to ensure a safe and healthy work environment on our construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety policies, conducting site inspections, and providing training to employees.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and Implement Safety Plans: Create and implement comprehensive safety plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct Site Inspections: Regularly inspect construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
3. Provide Safety Training: Deliver safety training programs to employees, subcontractors, and visitors to ensure they understand site-specific hazards and safety procedures.
4. Investigate Incidents: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
5. Maintain Safety Records: Keep accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Collaborate with Project Team: Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the project.

7. Stay Up-to-Date with Regulations: Ensure knowledge of current safety regulations, standards, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve site safety.

   Requirements

8. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

9. Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program certification, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or equivalent.
10. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in construction safety, with a proven track record of reducing incidents and improving safety performance.
11. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using safety management software.

12. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
