SAFETY OFFICER - LONGMEADOW

The Safety Officer will be responsible for the health and safety of staff in the workplace. This role involves compiling safety programs, standardizing them for consistency, and sharing best practice techniques at regular staff meetings. The Safety Officer will maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure that every member of staff adheres to regulated standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Programs: Compile, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs.
• Safe Working Techniques: Promote and practice safe working techniques.
• Health and Safety Standards: Establish and uphold health and safety standards.
• Employee Relations: Foster a cordial and professional relationship with employees.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
• Staff Meetings: Conduct regular meetings to share best practice techniques.
• Standardization: Standardize health and safety practices to ensure consistency.
• Hazardous Waste: Identify and dispose of hazardous waste correctly.
• Safety Initiatives: Promote and implement safety initiatives.
• Compliance Registers: Compile and maintain relevant registers for compliance.
• Documentation: Document staff information, meeting minutes, and compile reports for management.
• Equipment Inspections: Regularly inspect equipment to ensure safety standards are met.

Skills & Experience

• Technical expertise in our products would be advantageous.
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications
• Attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Matric/ Grade 12 (NSC)
• Certificate in Health and Safety
• Preferably a SHEQ Management Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years in a related role
• Warehouse Experience
