Chevron is accepting online applications for the positions of Safety Supervisor, Wells Rot.1, located in El Tigre, Venezuela, seeking a high-energy professional who can direct, supervise, control, execute and evaluate the processes of the Industrial Safety and Occupational Hygiene Management, in compliance with the strategic objectives of the organization.
The candidate selected for this position will work in a 28x28 rotative Work Shift.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the planning and operations of HSE activities of drilling and/or well interventions, well servicing, well workover and recompletion.
  • Plan, supervise, execute and evaluate the actions of Education and Sensitization in occupational health and safety to all the personnel of the Business and its environment.
  • Technical assistance and accompaniment in the implementation process of the Integrated Risk Management System (SIR-PDVSA).
  • Coordinate evaluations of Industrial Safety and Occupational Hygiene aspects in Works and Services Contracts and Risks.
  • Analyze and interpret statistics and their trends, generated by the indicators of occupational and vehicular accidents, to design strategies to develop corrective and/or control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with the programs established in the organization’s operational plans.
  • Promote a digital mindset (e.g., values, principles, and practices) throughout the organization to use tools and technologies that empower the workforce and create value for the business.
  • Correctly apply the hierarchy of controls (including acoustic engineering and ventilation principles) for the mitigation of biological, chemical, physical and ergonomic hazards.
  • Understand the principles behind risk assessment and the definition and relationship between hazards, events, causes, consequences, and safeguards (preventative and mitigating).
  • Identify potential LOC (loss of containment) events and the ability to prevent and mitigate LOC events through design assurance activities.
  • General knowledge of refinery processes in relation to waste, water and air regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data based on different tools and technologies such as Excel, Power Point, Power BI, SEEQ, PI Vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit work processes and documentation to ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
  • Ability to manage continuous improvement effort of work practices and compliance tools and safeguards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Engineering or related careers.
  • 8+ years of experience in Industrial Safety field.
  • Must be highly proficient in English.
  • Soft skills that facilitate their interaction with external and internal entities.
  • Clear customer orientation, strong leadership, overview, and high managerial skills.
  • Initiative and ability to influence and motivate others towards achievement.
  • Skills in handling information systems, writing documents, reading monographs and technical drawings.
  • Ability to convene and manage multidisciplinary groups.
