DIGITAL ACTION TRACKING SYSTEM (DATS)

The Digital Action Tracking System (DATS) is a web-based application designed to help organizations manage and track various actions and processes. At URS, we use it to support our Safety Management System through automated safety processes, document control, and learning management. Key Features:

  • Action Tracking: Monitors and records actions taken by individuals or teams, ensuring accountability and transparency.
  • Management Systems Integration: Supports various management systems, including HR, safety, quality, and environmental management.
  • Modules: Reporting, investigations, inspections, hazard assessments, observations, competency evaluations, rewards and more.

Responsibilities:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Corporate Human Resource Team, the Systems Specialist will provide subject matter expertise (SME) support for the following core HR and Safety infrastructure systems for Canada:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Management: Maintain computer systems, ensuring they operate efficiently.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for internal stakeholders accessing systems.
  • System Integration: Support proper integration of various systems and software.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Training: Train employees on the proper use of systems and software.
  • Reporting: Provide and customize where needed reporting for HR and Safety teams.
  • Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to provide ongoing support for Dayforce and DATS including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • HRIS Platforms: Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Dayforce, Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar systems is an asset.
  • Database Management: Strong understanding of database management and security.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for training and supporting HR, safety, vendors, employees, and other users.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing employee data and system configurations.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with HR managers, IT staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to safeguard data and adhere to strict protocols under pressure.
  • HR Processes: Understanding of HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and performance management is an asset.
  • Safety Processes: Understanding of Safety processes and procedures such as hazard assessments, safe operating procedures, inspections, observations, and investigations is an asset.
  • Legislation: Basic knowledge of labor laws and data protection regulations.
  • Post-secondary education in human resources, information systems computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • A natural grasp and interest in information technology concepts and processes is required.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
