About the role:
In this role you will support functional teams to better understand their risk profiles and work closely with them to identify opportunities to ensure consistency of approach aligned with the Safety and Wellbeing Strategy.
You will provide advice and technical support and build leadership capability to continuously reduce serious incidents and injuries within the business.
What’s involved:
- Embed a consistent approach to identifying and managing risks either existing or emerging within the business
- Challenging the current way of doing things to simplify ways of work and build capability of functional leaders
- Provide technical safety advice to the business functions and stakeholders to make strategic decisions with the safest outcomes, with a focus on simplification
- Build trust quicky and develop strong positive relationships with function partners and senior stakeholders, while supporting business change
- Provide advice, coaching and support to leaders and teams on the execution and implementation of safety and wellbeing strategy
- Provide advice, coaching and support to sites on risk assessments, including new or unusual processes
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll be a driven innovative self-starter, not afraid of challenging the current ways of doing things and driving change, with the purpose of improving our current processes and reducing risk for our team members and customers.
You’ll be a confident leader, being able to use your safety expertise to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders, inspire action and behavioural change.
You’ll need:
- Tertiary qualifications within Health and Safety coupled with relevant experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in driving significant improvements across teams
- Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Legislation, as well as strength in the Risk identification and assessment process
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities and risks through trends or where work is difficult and engage others to find solution-based outcomes and support change
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and coach
