We are looking for up to two candidates to complement and enhance the existing Saints Foundation Board of Trustees.
The successful candidates will bring a broad range of life and work experience to the role, as well as potential to develop further in the future. However the most important trait will be a passion for community, and the role that Saints Foundation can play in tackling inequalities in our city over the next few years.
Working alongside the eight existing Trustees and Saints Foundation’s leadership team, successful candidates will help the charity to develop and grow its impact across Southampton in the coming years.

The role of the Board of Trustees is:

  • To be accountable for the strategic direction of Saints Foundation
  • To protect the financial sustainability of the charity
  • To ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and strive for best practice
  • To safeguard the charity’s reputation and values
  • To check and challenge appropriately the charity’s leadership team
  • To build a strong, positive relationship with the MD and staff
  • To act as an ambassador for the charity, representing its interests and values to external stakeholders

Whilst all applications will be considered, during this period of recruitment we are particularly looking for candidates with at least one of the following experiences and/or skill sets:

  • Local community links including lived experience of the issues we support
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the social value space
  • Knowledge and/or experience of policing, criminal justice and probation systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience of working in a charity or community organisation

Those ideal for the role will come with a broad range of experiences and knowledge and will have the commitment to making Southampton an even better place for all, with a willingness to put outcomes for our beneficiaries first in their decision making.
