Saints Foundation is an independent charity aligned to Southampton Football Club. Harnessing the passion of the Club and its fans we aim to inspire, support and deliver positive change and equality of opportunity for young people and adults at risk across Southampton and surrounding areas.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion to assist young people to achieve their potential and improve their wellbeing and in doing so, working collectively to build a stronger, safer and more inclusive Southampton.
The ideal candidate will be able to work with colleagues and engage with participants from a range of diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, you will keep up to date with the current trends and challenges that young people in Southampton face.
Responsibilities:
You will be working as part of the Saints Foundation Premier League Kicks, Saints Switching play and Saints Work’s teams to deliver positive activities including football sessions, workshops and mentoring projects across the city. We aim to use the power of the Southampton FC brand to work with 8–18-year old’s who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence and/or from high-need areas.
In this role, you will work with the Youth Engagement Coordinator to deliver engaging sessions within communities during evening hours where we know anti-social behaviour increases. This includes building a strong rapport with young people and partners in the community, managing risk and safeguarding and maintaining a positive environment. Moreover, you will help the coordinator with evaluating the impact of your work through effectively collecting and managing data. You will also be working on Saints Switching play, providing 1-1 mentoring to young people that may already be involved in the criminal justice system and those young people either not in employment, education or training to build strong, trusting relationships to help ensure they have a pathway either into employment, education or training.
You will also be safeguarding the welfare of young people, adults and vulnerable groups at all times whilst ensuring that any relationship with children and adults at risk is appropriate and any language and behaviours is of a suitable demeanour.
