The right control valve selection is based on an understanding of the industry, process, and application it will be used in. Their role is to ensure accurate, repeatable, and reliable long-lasting flow control performance. We are seeking a proactive and responsible Internal Sales and Application Engineer with a strong background in industrial valves or instrumentation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, and knowledge of English and Spanish is highly desirable. You will be based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and expertise to the sales team and customers regarding industrial valves and instrumentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Interpret customer requirements and offer solutions that meet their needs.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services.
  • Manage purchase orders and deliveries with our factories to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure their long-term satisfaction.
  • Conduct product presentations and training sessions for customers and internal staff.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, products, and competitors to provide strategic insights.
  • Manage customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Support the development and implementation of sales strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Occasional travel for training sessions and possible customer meetings as required.

To succeed in this role, you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial valves or instrumentation.
  • Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory; proficiency in English.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex engineering concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel) and experience with CRM software.

As an advantage, you have

  • Experience in the pulp, paper, refineries and chemicals industries.
  • Knowledge of Valmet products and services.
  • Ability to conduct technical training and presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Spanish is desirable.
