What does a Sales & Commercial Operations Director do at Busuu?

  • Build and lead a best-in-class Sales & Commercial Operations function which is data led, drives high performance, quality client interactions, and enables streamlined operations through the building and implementation of effective systems and processes
  • Ensure business, team and customer needs are served across Sales Analytics & Intelligence; Sales Performance; Market Intelligence; Process & Systems; Business Operations (between functions) Sales Enablement; Sales Targets & Compensation
  • Implement change and maximize performance through impactful and well-executed projects across B2B teams and functions including Product, Finance, and Legal.
  • Ensure change is driven through exceptional stakeholder management, while not impacting day-to-day delivery of commercial results
  • Use sales and customer data sets to generate insights, prioritize action, and drive sales productivity
  • Provide recommendations proactively on performance and productivity improvement strategies and actions
  • Collaborate with the Sales Ops team, Sales Director, Customer Success Director, Marketing Director and Channel Partnerships Manager to develop and implement commercial strategies designed to achieve overall business objectives and financial targets, including predictability of the business
  • Be accountable for measurement and achievement of Sales performance metrics, working in conjunction with Sales leaders
  • Act as a strong and impartial voice and influence around performance in Sales pipeline and forecasting meetings
  • Partner with Finance on building the B2B global sales forecast
  • Ensure optimisation of CRM and other sales tools
  • Develop Market Analytics capabilities to enable smarter segmentation and targeting, and to identify opportunity and risk
  • Develop clear Sales Enablement strategy to support sales productivity through training, coaching, tools, data etc
  • Ownership of Sales process governance to ensure financial and legal compliance
  • Work with CCO and other stakeholders to identify gaps, opportunities, new requirements and areas of focus for Sales Ops

What we’re looking for in a Sales Operations Director:

  • 8+ years sales strategy and commercial operations experience in SaaS environments
  • Strong strategic and tactical leadership, executive presence and influencing across boundaries
  • Exceptional analytical skills and commercial acumen
  • Ability to identify, define, lead and deliver strategic projects
  • A track record of driving change across business through expert and empathetic stakeholder management
  • Previous experience of leading Sales Operations in a high growth, scaling business
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
