QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Diploma/Degree in Marketing or Engineering;
  • Valid Gas testing and Flameproofing certificates;
  • 5-10 years Underground experience in underground mining in management of teams as a CPT/Site Manager;
  • Knowledge of the market in mining operations is desired;
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the best maintenance practices of Joy underground equipment;
  • Proficiency with all aspects of MS Office suite is necessary;
  • Comprehension of Sales and Financial data required;
  • Technical aptitude and experience with strategic planning is desired;
  • Experience in managing big projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Commercial Department and Parts / Customer Service Representative ’s department personnel leading and supporting them in their efforts to ensure you accomplishing sales goals and targets and meeting internal and external customer’s needs;
  • Daily communication is also required with other departments in Underground Mining and Joy Global Africa to ensure financial results are tracked, achieved, and reported properly;
  • Interface with Joy Engineering – Product Management and other global support departments to deliver on business requirements;
  • Complete executive summaries for new equipment sales where required in conjunction with the Commercial department and Senior Manager Marketing Sales & Service where necessary;
  • Participate in Underground Mining Communication meetings with your relevant account information;
  • Expedite the parts back order for your responsible area and liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure that Underground Mining meets customer expectations and sales targets;
  • Responsible for the long-term strategic plan in terms of planning, resourcing, scheduling, and co-ordination of all maintenance work for maintaining and enhancing equipment reliability, by the most cost-effective methods available minimizing risk and rework;
  • Responsible for the planning, resourcing, and co-ordination of onsite Project Plans;
  • Responsible for resolving disputes on warranties and overdue receivables;
  • Extensive traveling;
  • Willing to relocate to Secunda or surrounding area.
