Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite/AcuityMD) and sales performance management software.
- Strong understanding of sales compensation design principles and best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience preparing and delivering reports and presentations to senior leadership.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales compensation analysis, sales operations, or a related role.
- Proven track record of managing sales compensation programs and optimizing sales operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in finance, HR, and sales.
- Familiarity with the medical device or healthcare industry is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF JOB:
- The Sales Compensation & Operations Analyst will be responsible for designing, administering, and analyzing sales compensation programs while optimizing sales operations.
- This role will ensure that the sales team is effectively motivated and aligned with business objectives through well-structured compensation plans and streamlined operations. The Analyst will also provide insights and recommendations to improve sales performance, compensation effectiveness, and overall sales productivity.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain sales compensation plans, ensuring they are competitive, fair, and aligned with company objectives.
- Administer the sales compensation process, including tracking and calculating commissions, bonuses, and other incentives.
- Analyze the effectiveness of compensation plans, providing recommendations for adjustments to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Optimize sales processes, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity across the sales organization.
- Support the implementation and management of CRM systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Develop and monitor key sales metrics, such as quota attainment, sales performance, and pipeline health, to provide actionable insights.
- Generate and distribute regular reports on sales compensation, performance, and operations metrics to sales leadership and other stakeholders.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of sales data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate insights to the sales team and leadership.
- Work closely with Finance, HR, and Sales Leadership to align compensation strategies with financial goals and sales targets.
- Partner with the sales team to understand their needs and challenges, providing data-driven solutions to enhance performance and satisfaction.
- Support the annual sales planning process, including quota setting and territory alignment, by providing analytical support.
- Identify opportunities to streamline sales compensation and operations processes, implementing best practices and automation where possible.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in sales compensation and operations, recommending innovative approaches to keep the company competitive.
- Conduct periodic audits of sales compensation and operations processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
