Description:

Te Kete Tipuranga o Huirapa Ltd (Arowhenua Native Nursery) is a wholesale plant nursery specialising in providing high-quality native plants grown from eco-sourced seeds for conservation projects, environmental enhancement projects, amenity plantings, landscapers, garden centres, and nurseries across the rohe.
A company dedicated to conservation and restoration efforts, they embrace the essence of kaitiakitanga, where guardianship, protection and preservation are at the core of their mission.
Due to rapid growth, and a strong vison for the future of the operation, they have created a new role for an experienced Sales and Contracts Manager to join the team and spearhead their continued commercial growth.
This is a varied and dynamic position spanning the full business development, sales, and contract management cycle. The Sales and Contracts Manager will source new business, secure sales and negotiate contracts, then follow each project through to ensure its smooth and timely completion. This is a collaborative role, working closely with other key staff including the Site Manager, Botanical Advisor, and Production Manager to provide exceptional customer service, ensure work schedules are planned and rolled out efficiently, and deliver work to the highest standards.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Scoping new work opportunities and meeting potential clients to discuss requirements
  • Provide quotes, negotiate prices, and write contracts
  • Schedule work programs and allocate resources
  • Monitor contract/project progress and liaise with all stakeholders
  • Prepare progress reports
  • Act as first point of contact for clients during site works to resolve any issues

Our ideal candidate will bring the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualification or significant experience in contract management, conservation project management, environmental management or similar fields
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to scope and secure new business including negotiation of pricing and contract terms
  • Experience working with government agencies and local authorities such as DoC and E-Can are highly desirable
  • Confidence with computer systems and programs for sales, quotes, contract management and communications
  • Sound business acumen and ability to manage budgets/funding allocations
  • Excellent physical fitness and capable of operating light vehicles off-road, traversing farmland, bush environments, and hillsides
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about tikanga Māori, and be part of a Kaupapa Māori organization

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a sales and contracts management professional who is passionate about conservation and the environment. You will be equally comfortable working in the office as you are out on the farm. An attractive salary is on offer for the successful candidate.
So if this is your dream role, then apply today with your CV and cover letter detailing your skills, experience, qualifications, and interest in this exciting position.
Early applications are welcome – this role is vacant now.
