YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Sales Executive to join the talented Pier One Sydney Harbour team. This role is responsible for the conversion of conference and events, manages market segment accounts and long term relationships through both proactive and reactive efforts. Reporting to the MICE Department Head, primary responsibilities include:

  • Respond to all conference and event sales enquiries
  • Preparation of proposals, contracts, and liaise with events team on execution
  • Achieving and exceeding set budget and goals through conversion
  • Record accurate data on business quoted and contracted
  • Use negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to close the business
  • Identify new or existing markets/accounts that meet property sales strategy
  • An understanding of the overall market, competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand
  • Use and knowledge of Ci/TY is preferable.
  • Negotiate type/costs of services, seeking solutions within clients budget
  • Approaches opportunities with curiosity, open mindedness and innovation
  • Collaborates with operational teams to ensure all client requests are executed
  • Manages account production through improved customer loyalty by strategic account management
  • Manages direct and third party clients to convert all enquiries

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrates prior hotel sales experience in a similar role with proven track record.
  • Displays confidence, energy and enthusiasm, with a flair of creativity and a passion to win.
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills, and understanding of sales processes.
  • Can effectively upsell products and services and bring a sale to closure.
  • Ability to manage and balance group and local business.
  • Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organized manner.
  • Displays excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal & conflict management skills.
  • Has effective time management and decision making skills.
  • Software knowledge (Microsoft Office, Excel, Opera & CI/TY).
