Sales Manager – 5* Curio Collection by Hilton
For the new opening of a 5* Hotel in Florence, branded Curio Collection by Hilton, we are looking for a Sales Manager who will report directly to the General Manager of the property. You will constantly be looking for cooperation opportunities and increase sales for the transient individuals and business groups segments. You will travel domestically but also to attend trade fairs & roadshows where required to further increase awareness for the hotel.
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and directing the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans and initiatives in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
The purpose of the role is to proactively position and market the property; manage the marketing budget to enable development of hotel specific campaigns, promotions, collateral, etc. to drive revenue and meet business objectives. The Sales Manager will work closely with the brand and revenue management, to develop and implement strategies to maximize Revpar and grow market share in a profitable way and grow market share as measured by STR.
Leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives. Strategies focus on delivering products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and provides a return on investment to the owner.

COMMERCIAL

  • Activation, account penetration and animation of the account portfolio of the hotel, where you are constantly looking for cooperation opportunities and increase sales for the whole company.
  • Develop strategy to solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed the hotels’ revenue goals.
  • Informing the Key Account Directors from the Brand of hotel needs, follow the RFPs and drive them to generate sales at our hotels.
  • Account acquisition, through targeted sales activities to build your portfolio account, where your focus is on large-to-medium businesses.
  • Proactive involvement of general manager at the animation process accounts that are important to his/her hotel.
  • Arrange monthly production figures for the various segments.
  • Analysing monthly production figures of the accounts, identify the needs of the accounts and take action if this is necessary.
  • The fully maintained and proactive use of the customer database.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of strategies and sales activities in transient and group segments; identify and prospect new business opportunities, new customers and new markets and ensure increase of the market share by closing high value sales deals.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support the long-term stability of the business, providing customer service that is beyond the expectation of the client.
  • Understand competitive landscape, local and feeder market dynamics, and changing customer needs to ensure property success.
  • Gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognizing patterns and relationships in data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.

MANDATORY & PREFERABLE REQUIREMENTS

Listed below are the mandatory & preferable requirements recognized as minimum level to be short listed for this role.

Mandatory:

  • A minimum 3 years of travel industry experience in sales manager role.
  • Native or fluent in Italian (written and spoken).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Must be an EU Citizen or possess an Italian work visa.

Preferable:

  • Highly computer literate.
  • Current experience with an international branded hotel group.
  • Additional language (French or German would be considered a plus).
