Description:

Fully renovated and part of the Gray Collection, the Metcalfe Hotel has entered a new era.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Account Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and managing accounts and overseeing corporate groups. Their role will involve maximizing guestroom and food and beverage revenues while providing effective guidance to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience in hospitality sales.
- College diploma in Hospitality (an asset).
- Fluent in English (both orally and in writing), French an asset.
- Excellent sales skills in negotiation, prospecting, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of the Ottawa Market.
- Good organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong aptitude for Microsoft Office Suite software and hotel IT systems (Opera, Sabre, Lanyon).
- Strong interest in business development.
Responsibilities:
- Process incoming calls, analyze the needs of potential clients and offer the products and services that best meet their requirements.
- Develop business relationships with existing accounts (follow-ups, planned activities, business meals, etc.).
- Target, solicit and penetrate new and existing accounts in all segments.
- Perform site visits, negotiate and prepare sales proposals.
- Prospect for new business by conducting outside sales calls and telephone solicitation.
- Conduct account and market research.
- Develop and implement sales action plans to grow market share.
- Maintain accounts, contacts, activities, and contracts up to standard in the hotel PMS.
- Monitor and respond to RFP’s.
- Establish strong business partnerships by ensuring high quality guest service (follow-up, documentation of actions performed, in-depth knowledge of its customer target).
- Participate in any relevant business development activity (trade shows, networking events).
- Work and collaborate closely with the different teams in the hotel (accounting, guest services, F&B, catering, revenue management).
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and various projects as assigned.
