Responsibilities:

AS SALES MANAGER, PROJECTS AND CONTRACTS YOUR WORK WILL FOCUS ON THESE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain close contact between the company with existing and new customers that leads to new project sales
  • Lead and/or participate in sales projects and report the progress to relevant stakeholders to meet strategic goals.
  • Setting targets and reviewing the performance with the GM Sales.
  • Execute or/and define action plans.
  • Develop the local market (local shipowners) which is crucial to improve and expand the install-base locally.
  • Maintain a CRM opportunity pipeline according to guidelines and issue visit reports within agreed timescales
  • Develop an understanding of our customers business to create suitable and compelling valued offering that will enhance their business
  • Maintain regular contact by visiting key personnel in customer organisations and to present the offering of all category products in a manner reflecting the Company’s values
  • Assist customers with budget planning for upgrades of Wartsila or other Marine propulsion products, where identified
  • Support the development and negotiation of complex support contracts

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

  • Experienced Sales Manager with a proven track record in delivering business results.
  • Commercial: Eager to grow the business, close the deals - still securing required profit margins.
  • Experience in dealing with complex contract development and negotiation
  • Consultative negotiation skills, proficient at negotiations, both technically and commercially and able to close deals
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and present to a wide range of stakeholders both internally, externally, and larger audiences
  • Presentation skills, ability to adapt the messaging to the audience
    In this role, travel is required to meet with our customers nationally. You will be expected to travel approximately 50% of the time.
