The role requires strong and proven people management skills. And at the same time a bold, competing-to-win mindset and business results-oriented personality. The candidate must strive to continuously improve ways of working and achieve the best possible outcomes for the patient, customer, and Medtronic.
This role will be accountable for the whole Portuguese market, preferably based in the Lisbon area and is a remote role that requires a big percentage of time travelling to support the team and customers. This means your home/remote location is the primary work location. There may however be requirements to attend a Medtronic location for meetings from time to time.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop strategies that will increase revenue and gain market share for the Business Unit products.
  • Develop a deep business, customer and industry knowledge. Develop strong clinical knowledge and links with leading physicians and key opinion leaders
  • Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning
  • Accountable for establishing sales forecasts and setting sales targets for sales teams
  • Review and track sales performance versus plan; work with sales teams as appropriate to resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies, negotiating with customers to achieve successful long term businesses success
  • Direct marketing and training resources on education programs, product launches and other marketing and education related programs

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of Electrophysiology market or similar
  • Relevant medical industry experience and knowledge of Cardiovascular Market
  • Understanding of the Portuguese health system
  • Experience with direct sales business model
  • Excellent spoken & written Portuguese and English skills
