Description:

We are looking for a Sales Support / Proposal Engineer with a strong foundation in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the sales and engineering teams to deliver technical proposals that meet customer specifications, while ensuring that solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with industry standards. This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys working on complex engineering solutions and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Creation & Customization: Partner with the sales team to provide and develop technical proposals tailored to client needs. This includes translating customer requirements into clear specifications, selecting appropriate materials, and determining necessary processes.
  • Technical Evaluations: Perform technical analysis, calculations, and simulations to determine the best solutions that meet customer needs while optimizing performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Collaboration with Sales & Operations Teams: Work closely with process engineers, sales personnel, and other technical specialists to ensure that the proposals are technically and commercially accurate.
  • Cost Estimation: Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, evaluating the necessary materials, equipment, labor, and timelines required to deliver the proposed solution within budget.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide technical support during the pre-sales process, responding to client inquiries, clarifying technical specifications, and addressing any concerns related to the proposal.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and present detailed technical proposals, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and other necessary documentation to the client, ensuring clarity and precision in communication.
  • Solution Optimization: Use your chemical and process knowledge to suggest and implement optimizations that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance, while meeting proposal constraints and regulatory standards.
  • Bid Support & Negotiation: Assist the sales team in refining proposals during the bidding process and provide technical insights during client negotiations to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Coordinate with other departments, including senior management, procurement, and production, to ensure technical feasibility and alignment throughout the proposal process.
  • Market Insight & Innovation: Stay up to date on emerging trends and innovations in the chemical and process engineering fields, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improving proposal strategies and solutions.
  • Post-Proposal Support: Offer ongoing support to customers and the sales team after proposal submission, providing technical clarification, modifications, or additional information as necessary. Key Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical/process engineering, ideally in a sales support or proposal engineering role within an industrial, chemical, or process-focused environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in chemical/process engineering principles, system design, and process optimization.

Proposal Development Experience: Experience in preparing technical proposals, including specifications, calculations, technical drawings, equipment & process selection, and cost estimation.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions and troubleshoot complex techno-commercial challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with sales, operations, logistics and senior management.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with experience in using proposal management or CRM tools (Salesforce, SAP) beneficial

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Umm al-Quwain City: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

Willingness to travel:
