As a Sales Trader in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), you will be responsible for structuring and executing RNG and carbon offset transactions within the U.S. renewable energy and low-carbon fuels market. Working closely with a team of seasoned professionals, you’ll leverage their expertise in environmental commodities to expand the RNG trading book. Your role will emphasize building long-term client relationships, mapping the RNG market, and identifying key trading opportunities.
You will source and execute transactions in both compliance and voluntary RNG markets, effectively navigating the complexities of regulatory environments such as the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). A key part of your role will involve developing or deepening your expertise in the RNG market, understanding pricing dynamics, regional differences, and the broader landscape of renewable natural gas as it aligns with low-carbon fuel initiatives and carbon reduction goals.
You’ll take full ownership of the RNG trading process, including managing junior traders, identifying and capitalizing on emerging opportunities in the evolving RNG market, executing deals, and ensuring efficient post-trade operations. Your expertise in RNG trading will strategically position the team to meet the growing demand for low-carbon fuels, helping to advance the U.S.’s renewable energy objectives and contribute to national decarbonization efforts.
The role will consist of, but not limited to, the following actions on a daily basis:
Cold Calling
Communicate daily with your team, mid-office, risk and management
Engage with our counterparties, exchange information and needs
Transform these needs into concrete trading opportunities
Actively approach new customers to build the customer database
Conduct local market and product research on the environmental commodities markets
Contribute to the company’s growth efforts
Manage and if necessary aid and assist with the post-trade logistics of pending trades
Manage sustainability requirements of your products and clients

The Requirements
In order to be considered for the role you will meet the following:
Fluent in English , another language is a plus
Authorize to work in United States of America
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, for instance Commodity related programs, Econometrics, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or similar is a plus
Minimum 2 year’s experience in, sales (trading roleis a plus)
Articulate, precise and excellent analytical skills
Experience with trading commodities is a must
Experience with Renewables is considered a plus
Willing to reallocate to Houston, Texas.
