SUMMARY:

Our Thunder Bay location is hiring for a Sample Preparation Technician to assist us in preparing samples for laboratory analysis. The schedule for this role will be 4 days on, 4 days off rotational nights.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Fork Lift certification/license is an asset
  • Ability to lift 25 kg on a consistent basis
  • Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a mature work ethic
  • Problem solving, communication, organization, and time management
  • Commitment to the production of accurate and timely results
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE properly and follow all safety protocols
  • Must be flexible to work night shifts including weekends on a 4 days on 4 days off rotation

Responsibilities:

  • Unpack, sort, check, crush and pulverize mineral samples using specialized equipment
  • Safely follow standard operating procedures, and perform quality control checks as required
  • Enter sample data into computer, ensuring accurate details
