We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Sanctions Screening Analyst to join our Sanctions team. This role is located in Manchester - hybrid.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

Screen Payments/SWIFT Messages in accordance with Sanctions screening policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Review transactions against watchlist hits at Level 1 (Review) or Level 2 (Investigations) and refer / escalate for resolution in a timely manner.
Develop expertise SME knowledge of: (1) BNY’s payments infrastructure, (2) payment types and (3) applicable sanctions programmes implemented by regulators across the globe.
Develop an environment of continuous focus on quantifiable productivity and quality.
Identify and escalate issues in a prompt and timely manner which may impact clients.
Adopt best practices by partnering with other transaction processing teams.
Work closely within the team to ensure all the daily activities and checklists are completed in accordance with the Service Level Agreements.
Assists with administrative items where applicable and may provide guidance or training to less experienced support staff.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE’RE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:

1-3 years’ experience in back-office operations of a financial institution, fintech or alternative payment processing experience.
Prior experience and working knowledge of compliance/sanctions screening will be preferred (Working knowledge of SWIFT and international payment conventions and practices will be an advantage).
Strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively.
Strong PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn bespoke case management and investigations tools.
Flexibility with shift timing (i.e. 8am-4pm) may be required to support the business requirements and occasional paid overtime may be requested.
