POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sanitation Supervisor at Gray Ridge Eggs Inc. is a critical leadership role focused on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within our food processing plant. Reporting to the SQF Practitioner/HACCP Coordinator, this position oversees the Sanitation Crew and serves as the backup for the Sanitation Supervisor, ensuring all sanitation procedures are executed effectively and efficiently according to company and regulatory standards. This role is essential in upholding the sanitation standards that Gray Ridge Eggs Inc. is known for, ensuring our products meet the highest quality and safety standards. The Sanitation Supervisor’s leadership and dedication to excellence are key to maintaining our reputation and compliance with food safety regulations. It is imperative that all employees are treated equally, and, in a manner, that is consistent with company values.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior supervisory experience would be preferred, but proven ability to motivate and lead.
  • At least 3 years experience in a food processing plant as lead hand or supervisor, preferably in a sanitation environment.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • HACCP and first aid training would be an asset.
  • On the job training is needed to learn how the equipment works and what procedures are followed to do the cleaning.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Able to adapt to changes and open to learning new ways to get things done more efficiently and effectively.
  • Sound understanding of the principles and practices of effective supervision, skilled at motivating and leading a diverse group of employees. Additional training in supervision would be desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and able to learn in-house systems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Sanitation Practices.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

  • Responsible for maintaining safety, attendance and HACCP information for furtherance to HACCP Coordinator.
  • Inform Maintenance Crew of any concerns, as well as document maintenance related concerns.
  • Responsible for supervising 500 sanitation crew and reviewing the work activities of sanitation staff.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Ensuring employees are following established HACCP, biosecurity, and health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure all employees work safely and comply with all Company Policies.
  • Ensuring employees are following company policies and procedures which includes HACCP, biosecurity, Health and Safety.
  • Report all employee non compliances to HACCP Co.
  • Report all Accident/Incident/Near Misses/Hazards.
  • Investigate all Accident/Incident/Near Misses/Hazards.
  • Complete Dr. packages to send with employee to hospital.
  • If an accident occurs on shift (including minor accidents) ensure that an accident form is filled out.
  • Complete all HACCP forms as required.
  • Supervisor must complete all sanitation training for food contact surfaces.
  • Any sanitation re-training should be documented on Training logs (SAN 15-2).
  • Ensure that all new employee probationary evaluations are to be completed at 3 months
  • Ensure that all employees are evaluated annually.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained properly, and training documentation is signed.
  • Document attendance infractions and issue appropriate level of discipline up to but not including Suspensions.
  • Deal with employee concerns in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Assisting co-workers where and when needed.
  • Check Gray Ridge email account at a minimum of once per week.
  • All other duties assigned by Sanitation Manager.
