Introduction
IBM Global Business Services SAP Application Architects serve as the conduit between businesses and technology. In general, providing leadership and technical support for ERP systems migrations, building new landscape in different platforms, including cloud and maintenance of SAP Solutions for our clients. Delivering deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • As a SAP Architect you will oversee all aspects of a systems design solution, investigating ideas, defining solutions for clients that are fit for purpose, being a conduit between business and technology in advocating for the client whilst guiding the technical teams through implementation.
  • As an experienced SAP consultant with IBM Global Business Services, you will deliver innovative business solutions throughout scope, plan, design, build and test and have responsibility for systems integration. You will leverage your subject matter expertise and your leadership capabilities to ensure successful project delivery and client success.
  • As an Architect you will collaborate closely with other stakeholders, including business users, project managers, developers, and others, to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications. They are responsible for managing all Architecture decisions and provide Subject Matter Expertise to the client, ensuring that all Architectural decisions made can be implemented for on premise or in the cloud. The Architect will be involved in the day-to-day activities as well as new project work which arises.
  • They will take end to end accountability for all SAP technical components and be seen as the Subject Matter Expert.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 15 years’ experience as a SAP Basis professional including experience in design, build, test and roll out of SAP systems including most recently S4HANA solutions.
  • At least 8 Years’ experience as an SAP Architecture Professional, versed in SAP across complex accounts.
  • At least 5 Years’ experience in managing multi-vendor and systems integration projects, working in a distributed team environment.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of client requirements and providing tailored recommendations.
  • Leading SAP technical design, configuration, and customisation requirements
  • Experience in Azure environments.
  • Developing detailed technical designs, specifications, and documentation.
  • Overseeing code migration, and testing.
  • Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Staying current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and SAP product roadmaps.
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Proven experiences as an SAP Architect, with hands-on experience implementing SAP solutions.
  • Strong understanding of SAP Module configurations and integrations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong negotiating skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least one SAP certification, HANA
  • Strong client Relationship and engagement skills
  • Willing to take on challenges in new areas as an SAP Architect.
  • Ambition, excellent leadership skills and a talent for building successful client relationships will be highly valued.
  • An ability to travel.
  • Monitor Incidents on daily basis and ensure that resolution is within the agreed SLAs.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting across all SAP platforms.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of testing strategies, methodologies including unit, integration, performance testing.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills including the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
  • A team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly, ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent at knowledge sharing to wider team
  • Should be proactive, self-driven and take ownership of work.
  • Must have NV1 clearance with a preference for NV2 or above.
