As a Sawmill Supervisor, you’ll be working for one of the largest and best-managed forestry companies in the world as you apply your skills to our daily manufacturing activities. Canfor is deeply engaged in innovation and technology, so you will be utilizing cutting-edge systems for tracking, reporting, root cause analysis of safety, quality, cost, and result delivery. You’ll be responsible for helping to maximize product quality and profits by optimizing production standards and your strong attention to detail will come into play as you prepare budgets, manage costs, and provide support to various administrative and potentially environmental management activities.

What you will do:
- Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety at all times, leading by example and ensuring the team follows all policies, procedures, practices and Occupational Health & Safety regulations
- Address unsafe conditions as required
- Identify opportunities to improve and look for opportunities to reduce cost, while safely meeting production targets
- Coach, train and support team members to maximize performance
- Foster a culture of open communication with employees in all departments and at all levels
- Engage all employees to provide valuable input into work processes and systems
- Ensure the timely implementation of key Corporate and operational initiatives
For this role, come equipped with:
- Excellent communication, time-management and team-building skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Sense of urgency with a willingness to learn
- Familiarity with Ministry of Environment and Worksafe BC regulations would be an asset
- Mobile equipment knowledge would be an asset
