Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The SBA Credit Analyst’s primary focus is to assist in providing accurate, timely, and succinct credit underwriting to ensure compliance with SBA loan regulations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of:
- Experience with and working knowledge of the current SBA SOP
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to:
- Multi-task and work independently
- Analyze and solve problems
- Take independent action within established guidelines and develop new procedures and approaches when needed
- Perform duties under frequent time pressures
Education and Training:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business or Finance.
- Requires 2-4 years of Commercial C&I experience and/or SBA experience.
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the evaluation and underwriting of SBA loan applications to determine creditworthiness and compliance.
- Reviews and analyzes all customer financial information, recognizing trends that may impact repayment to ensure sound credit decisions are made.
- Interview borrower(s) in regard to loan request.
- Documents the detail and requirements of loan decisions, including conditions to close.
- Works with the Closing team for a smooth hand-off of the borrower to the next level in the SBA Process (submission and closing). If needed, assist in screen-out responses, credit addendums, and memos to the file.
- Successfully communicate with SBA via eTran to obtain a correct SBA Loan Authorization for each transaction.
- Maintains knowledge of Busey lending policies, risk rating requirements and compliance standards and gain a working knowledge of the SBA’s SOP.
- Assist with Portfolio Management duties such as: monitoring monthly borrowing base reports
