Description:
Overview:
Primary responsibility of this role is to manage Microbiological Laboratory operations. The job holder is also required to be proactively identify and initiate continuous improvements to process and systems used within QC.
Responsibilities:
- Understand PepsiCo Laboratory programs and ensure the Microbiology operation is complying with the GLP requirements.
- Ensure all instrumentation used in the testing are validated and calibrated to the standard set. Ensure all laboratory chemicals, consumables, and records are kept in accordance with the Company’s protocol.
- Provide accurate and timely disposition of material release in accordance with the Company’s acceptance or rejection criteria
- Liaise with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to manage priorities and balance lab capacity with demand
- Responsible for isolating and communicating any rejected or placed on-hold batches to QC Supervisor, operations, and supply chain team.
- Troubleshoot issues and carry out investigations on Micro non-conformances and follow-up until the issue resolved.
- Responsible for the exercising of maximum care, good judgment, and behavior in preventing EHS incidents
- Close collaboration with plant sanitarian on site cleaning validations
- Process owner for:
- Cleaning/CIP program matrix implementation & on-going validation
- Vendor Non-conformance Management / Approval for use
- FG releases
- Any other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education or Professional Certifications
- Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology or equivalent in any other related discipline
- Experience
- At least 3 years’ Micro lab operations experience in FMCG (or) External lab operations.
- Basic knowledge with food safety quality standards - HACCP and FSSC 22K
- Experience in SAP – QM module
- Knowledge and job skills
- Excellent Microbiology technical skills.
- Batching and filling lines basic Process knowledge
