Overview:
We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. The Technical Function is our team of enabling experts offering knowledge and partnership to functions on specialist subjects including engineering, quality and productivity. This role requires supporting Quality Control requirements for finished goods as part of the QC team. Specific responsibilities can be expected to rotate between the finished goods and raw materials laboratories.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily laboratory planning, prioritization, and analysis of Packaging material samples in accordance to documented testing methodology.
  • Provide accurate and timely disposition of all Packaging materials in accordance with the Company’s accept/reject criteria.
  • Ensure all instrumentation used in the testing of products are validated and calibrated to standard.
  • Ensure all laboratory records are kept in accordance with the Company’s protocol.
  • Compile and report relevant KPI’s monthly to Lab supervisor. Implement quality initiatives and quality strategic initiatives appropriate to level.
  • Responsible for blocking and communicating any batches rejected or placed on-hold to operations and raise relevant Trackwise record for follow-up.
  • Trouble shoot issues and carry out investigations relevant to Packaging non-conformance in filling lines (or) complaint process.
  • Analyse data/trend, challenge non-value-added activities and streamline Packaging lab operations.
  • Adhere to PepsiCo Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ad hoc duties or projects as assigned by Lab supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, bachelor’s degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Equivalent.
  • At least 3 years work experience in a relevant field.
  • System and operational knowledge - SAP, LIMS systems, basic knowledge in Filling operations and troubleshooting experience is an added advantage.
  • An understanding of GMP/GLP and other key manufacturing processes
  • Ability to planning, manage priorities and deliver results to meet internal customer requirements.
  • Experience in building excellent working relationships with operations team members.
  • Good Communication Skills across all levels in an organization.
  • Good Attention to detail
  • Self-starter, proactive in delivering results and a good organizer.
