The District of Squamish is located in the unceded traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor, this position installs, programs, maintains, and troubleshoots
Electrical and SCADA systems and network communications equipment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated knowledge of SCADA Platforms
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute work plans.
- Excellent trouble-shooting and multi-tasking skills.
- Good project management and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of water distribution systems, wastewater treatment and collection, and drainage systems.
- Must have ladder logic knowledge for SCADA and PLC Programming
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
- Proficiency of PLC hardware and software
- Knowledge of and ability to install data cabling.
- Proficiency of electronic/ electrical equipment and related industry codes such as the Canadian Electrical Code and
CSA Electrical Safety Z462
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to interface with customer base.
- Sound knowledge of relevant WorkSafe BC safety regulations and District OH&S programs and procedures.
- Must possess the ability to work in conditions as outlined below.
REQUIRED TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License with a safe driving record.
- Journeyman Electrician with Interprovincial Red Seal Trade Certificate
- 2 years’ experience as an Electrician in a municipal or similar environment.
- 2 years SCADA systems support experience

Hours of Work: 40 hours weekly. Current shifts (subject to change) are between the hours of 7:00am to 4:30pm,
Monday to Friday.
Salary: $45.12 per hour
This is a Union position within the Collective Agreement of CUPE Local 2269 and the District of Squamish.

Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, program, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, tests and repair of all industrial electrical
controls, instrumentation, analyzers, actuators, adjustable speed drives, and related electrical equipment used in
throughout the District of Squamish.
- Maintains, programs and troubleshoots SCADA Systems RTUs and PLCs
- Maintain all licenses and support contract documentation
- Operate in compliance with Canadian Electrical Code, Electrical Safety Standards and all other applicable standards
and operating procedures.
- Coordinates equipment and tower maintenance and any communications infrastructure work performed by outside
contractors.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures, operating manuals, process manuals, and guidelines.
- Installs and maintains SCADA security systems.
- Designs, configures, and installs radio infrastructure.
- Develops training sessions for operators and service technicians.
- Maintains inventory of parts.
- Manages budget effectively by getting quotes, issuing Purchase Orders (PO’s) and follows up on work completion.
- Works cooperatively with other District departments and outside contractors
- Trains staff on operating SCADA systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
