JOB SUMMARY
The Scholarship & Stewardship Specialist serves as the primary liaison between the university, scholarship donors, and recipients, ensuring timely and personalized donor acknowledgments and collaborate with internal teams to highlight scholarship success stories. The incumbent will also help to strengthen donor relationships and enhance the overall effectiveness of stewardship program.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Express. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to work with teams of faculty, staff, students, and volunteers. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Can work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Pay attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building lasting relationships with donors, students, and colleagues. Empathy and understanding of the importance of scholarships in transforming students’ lives. Be proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent, and 2 years related experience.
- Experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
PHYSICAL SUMMARY
Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.
Responsibilities:
- Donor Relations and Stewardship: Ensure timely and personalized acknowledgment of donors, including thank-you letter and periodic impact reports.
- Communication and Reporting: Collaborate with the Strategic Communications to share stories of student success and scholarship impact across various platforms.
- Scholarship Fund Management: Monitor and track scholarship funds to ensure compliance with donor agreements and policies.
