Description:

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for a good allrounder who can work independently and as part of a busy administrative team and;

  • has excellent communication skills
  • is confident and able in ICT
  • has the ability to plan time effectively and to organise themselves well.
  • has strong decision making skills - able to investigate, solve problems and make decisions.

Experience of working within a school setting would be an advantage but not essential as long as you have a willingness to learn. An understanding of school information systems such as iSAMS would also be useful but not essential.
Hours of work during the term are Mondays and Tuesdays 8:00am-18:30pm, Wednesdays 8:00am-17.00pm and then Thursday 08.00-13.00 and Friday 08.00 -13.00 plus three weeks during the holidays. This is a job share with our current Receptionist/ Administrator.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES ON RECEPTION

  • warmly greet visitors to the school ensuring all visitor protocols are run through
  • answer emails sent to the school office inbox
  • deal with a wide range of internal and external telephone calls
  • liaise with pupils, staff and parents on varying issues during the school day
  • ensure registers are completed in a timely fashion
  • update information on the school’s database, passing on information to staff and parents
  • ensure communications are sent to parents and staff
  • distribute incoming post, using the franking machine to process outgoing post
  • run reports from the school’s database
  • Prepare parking signs for all visitors

RESPONSIBILITIES IN ADMINISTRATION

  • Admissions: Post-enrolment of new pupils and families, including safeguarding liaison with current school
  • Admissions: Post-OPS paperwork for departing pupils, including safeguarding liaison with next
  • Admissions: Support the Business Manager with lettings, including Camps and immersion pupils and logging onto the school’s IT Management systems and liaise with teachers.
  • Compliance: Supporting the Business Manager with aspects of compliance in the school
  • Policies: Supporting the school administration of writing policies and liaising with the marketing manager
