Description:

Role: School Age Leader - Float
Wage: $21 per hour
Benefits: YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, paid training, education & career advancement opportunities
Location: Primarily YMCA Lac Des Bois Care and Learning Centre (4131 Rainbow Dr, prince George, BC V2M 3W3) but will be expected to work at other YMCA sites in Prince George depending on operation needs.
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday 2-6pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 19 years of age & can provide three satisfactory references
  • Responsible Adult certification, equivalent child related training or a willingness to obtain training
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Current Child Care First Aid, CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with the children, providing quality care and creative programming
  • Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families, providing excellent service and building meaningful relationships
  • Implement YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum with the support of your leader
  • Plan and implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate program of activities
  • Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and YMCA requirements
