Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Secretarial Studies, a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have four (4) years of pertinent experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and general secretarial procedures
  • Testing required
  • Excellent knowledge of Google docs/sheets and forms
  • Knowledge of GPI, DOFIN and PAIE systems
  • Knowledge of entry of absences and substitution in the payroll system
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Receptive and friendly attitude
  • Familiarity with how a school functions on a daily basis
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work additional hours in the evening throughout the school year (e.g., curriculum night, parent conferences)
  • Knowledge of the student registration process
  • Ability and disposition to positively intervene and support students with various needs

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Principal in the general running of the school:
  • Student registration and placement
  • Staff and student absences
  • School exams and report cards
  • Student enrolment and transportation
  • Assists in event coordination and planning
  • Administers first aid; completes the reports required and informs parents and teachers
  • Responsible for monitoring teacher absences
  • Greeting and dealing with parents and community members in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Prepares and maintains lists of teachers, integration aides, etc. available for substitution
  • Responsible for general accounting, purchasing, and payroll
  • Assists IT in preparing teacher timetables in GPI for overmax classes
