Description:
SCHOOL CLEANING STAFF (PT) (11 HOURS)
InnovOak School has an immediate need for part time cleaning staff to ensure our school is ready each day for staff and students. This role does have some flexibility in scheduling for a suitable candidate. but is primarily required after 3:30 PM. As our next InnovOak School Staff member, we are looking not just for someone to fill a role, but someone who wants to be a part of our growth within KW.
IMPORTANT SKILLS
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work is highly valued
- Prior experience with WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, flexibly, and efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving objects
- Be personable, friendly, and outgoing while maintaining high levels of professionalism at all times to develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, and staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Responsibilities:
InnovOak School’s Cleaning Staff is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance tasks within the school. As a School Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our students, staff, and visitors. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute to creating a positive and welcoming learning environment for everyone at our school. Job duties would include:
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling materials.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
- Clean furniture, fixtures, and windows.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are properly stocked and report any maintenance issues to the operations coordinator.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and submit supply requests as needed.
- Take initiative to manage unplanned events that would require immediate attention.
- Support special events as required (cleaning/ set up)
- Follow all WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and other legislative requirements.
- Complete spot cleaning or other maintenance requirements as directed by principal. or operations coordinator
