Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The School Program Growth and Quality Manager is responsible for managing program growth and quality assurance within the School under the direction of the School Leadership and Centre of Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (CTLS) and in accordance with RDP policies and procedures.
Working with the Dean of the School and the CTLS, the Manager ensures centralized processes within the School in alignment with RDP processes to ensure new programs are developed in a timely manner in accordance with SEM (Strategic Enrolment Management) Framework, programs are reviewed following the schedule, and program growth is sustained. They complete complete environmental scans, program development proposals, and identifies potential areas for program development.
In addition, The Manager ensures that all School documentation is completed accurately for submission through the appropriate channels. They also work within their team to resolve curriculum issues related to program development and redevelopment to ensure quality and consistency of programs within the School and alignment with RDP and accreditation processes.
The School Program Growth and Quality Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery of a portfolio of programs and projects offered by the School to provide exceptional teaching and growth mindset opportunities for students.

EDUCATION

Graduate degree related to program/curriculum development

Experience

  • A minimum 5 years of senior level management experience in leading and supervising staff
  • 5-7 years experience in market research related to post-secondary education including the synthesis of information from diverse sources.
  • 5-7 years demonstrated experience in preparing proposals for grants, funding agency support, or government approval.
  • 5-7 years demonstrated experience in project management
  • 5-7 years experience in post-secondary education in instruction, curriculum design, and/or program development.

Responsibilities:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

With a Steering Committee and in collaboration with the Associate Dean and Office of the Associate Vice President, Academic, the Manager will complete environmental scans and consultations to identify potential areas for new programs or prioritization of program development within SEM Framework. This may include the engagement of Research Services, consultants, and/or stakeholders (both internal and external) in these consultations.

Additionally, the Manager will:

  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean, CTLS, and Steering Committee to write new program and project proposals
  • Manage record keeping processes related to program development projects.
  • Conduct, facilitate, synthesize, and summarize market research related to student demand and workforce demand utilizing LEAD Framework process.
  • Prepare proposals or facilitate the development of proposals.
  • Consult with Dean, AD CTLS, Office of AVPA, School Ops Manager, and Finance to prepare program proposal budgets.
  • Prepare submissions or facilitate the preparation of submissions for institutional and Ministry approvals and funding in consultation key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Registrar to ensure currency of transfer arrangements and to assist in developing new transfer partnerships.
  • Engage and supervise consultants in selected program development activities with the Associate Dean, CTLS. “Consultants” may be seconded faculty and staff of RDP or externally contracted consultants.
  • Complete effective recruitment and selection, retention, coaching, supervision, performance management of seconded staff and contracted consultants in compliance with People & Culture policies and procedures, FOIPP, and collective agreements in support of a high performing team.
  • Provide leadership by disseminating information, providing feedback, advising, and coaching for all staff under direct supervision
  • Develop, review, and is accountable for the fluid support structure for each project and processes to ensure the effective and efficient distribution and delegation of work
  • Promotes progressive learner-centered delivery models in the development and revision of curriculum within the School in collaboration with CTLS
  • With Dean and Associate Deans of the School, resolves issues related to learner success within School programs

This role is eligible to receive professional development funds equivalent to 3% of their annual salary pro-rated to their start date. The successful candidate will also be eligible to apply for reimbursement to pursue the completion of advanced credentials.
