Description:
DESCRIPTION
The Secondary Teacher position within the Hospital-School at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital is very unique. This position works directly with children ages 5-18 who are hospitalized for medical or psychiatric issues, facing long-term chronic illness, or recovery from injury in their home communities. Students will be hospital patients for various lengths of time and be at various stages of treatment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree - Job related field.
- Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
- Job related experience in specialized field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree - Special Education.
- Endorsements in Special Education and/or English Language Learner (ELL).
- 5 years - Teaching experience.
- Experience in a traditional classroom setting as well as an alternative learning environment.
- Experience working with children with medical issues, disabilities, and mental health diagnoses.
