BIOLOGICAL TECHNICIAN

Can you assist in the preparation and running of practical classes in laboratory science/microbiology? Then this could be the position for you.
As part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring students and communities to succeed UCOL’s Manawatū Campus is seeking a highly motivated Science Technician to support delivery within our Laboratory Science programmes.
This is a part-time, fixed term position covering maternity leave (15 hours per week, ends 12 December 2025). The successful candidate will have a practical science based qualification with microbiology experience.
This position, based at our Manawatū Campus, will require you to be hands on, preparing for practical classes. As well as working with two dynamic teams you will have the full support of the Academic Programme Manager with all programme requirements fully developed.

Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and will be required to undergo pre-employment checks; including completing New Zealand Police Vetting as part of the Children’s Act 2014.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A practical science based qualification.
  • Technical competence in microbiology field
